Ushuaia prepares to host historic festival of hope with Franklin Graham

Ushuaia, Feb. 3, 2026 – In less than two weeks, a highly anticipated event that has been five years in the making will finally take place in Ushuaia.

“I couldn’t be more excited to come to Ushuaia. It has been on my heart for many years to preach in the southernmost city in the world,” said Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA). “I am looking forward to sharing the hope of Jesus Christ. We want everyone in Tierra Del Fuego to hear this Good News! All are invited and welcome to come to these free events and hear this message of God’s great love for them.”

The two-night festival will take place at Microestadio Jose Cochocho Vargas on Feb. 14 and 15. More than 40 evangelical churches and thousands of Christians through the province are partnering with BGEA for Esperanza Ushuaia, and dozens of free buses from as far as Tolhuin and Rio Grande are available to bring people to the event.

Plans for the outreach first began in 2020, but were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Efforts were renewed in November after church leaders in Ushuaia heard Rev. Graham share the hope of Jesus Christ in Buenos Aires where he preached at a two-day festival in partnership with nearly 2,500 churches. Almost 75,000 people attended the outreach, and on the second and final night, Velez Stadium was so packed, thousands of people lined the surrounding streets to hear the message that Graham shared from the Bible.

The arena where Franklin Graham will preach in Ushuaia is the same place where thousands of people gathered in 1991 to listen to live broadcasts of his father, Billy Graham, preaching in Buenos Aires.

Pastor Hugo Mullion of La Casa del Padre said, “Any attempt to describe the fruitful work carried out over decades by Billy Graham’s ministry always falls short. Esperanza Ushuaia is the current and challenging message for each and every one of us who live in this beautiful city. It is God’s outstretched hand. Thank you, Franklin Graham and your entire team for bringing us something so valuable!”

In addition to featuring a message of hope from Franklin Graham, there will also be live music from Rescate, an award-winning Argentinian Christian band, and Evangelina Crubinca, a Christian Argentine singer, starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14 and 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15.
