Special event for children called KidzFest still scheduled for Saturday morning, Feb. 6
TIFTON, Ga., Jan. 7, 2021 – As the coronavirus pandemic continues to impact efforts and reshape existing plans, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) announced this week that the Tiftarea Celebration with Will Graham will now be held as a one-day outreach on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m. ET, at First Baptist Church in Tifton.
Graham, who will bring an inspirational message of hope and peace in the midst of a tumultuous time, will be joined for the Tiftarea Celebration by musical artists Aaron Shust and Rhett Walker. Both musicians were slated to perform as part of the originally-scheduled three-day event in March 2020.
To allow for social distancing, in-person attendance at the Celebration will be capped at 500 people. Reservations are required, and will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis at TiftareaCelebration.com. Because physical space is limited, the Tiftarea Celebration will also be broadcast live at WillGrahamLive.com. Organizers are encouraging area congregations to organize safe and socially-distanced “watch parties” in their churches and homes.
“While it’s not how we had originally planned in the pre-COVID days, I’m incredibly excited to finally share the hope of Jesus in Tifton,” said Graham. “I pray that Christians across the region will invite their friends and family to attend the event with them, either in person or online, and that God will move in a mighty way in South Georgia. We need hope now more than ever!”
Bob Hickling, who has directed the Celebration planning on behalf of the BGEA, shared, “From the very beginning of this effort, we encouraged Christians across the region to pray for and invite their friends and family to the Tiftarea Celebration. Given this transition and the increased focus on a livestream, that becomes even more important. I pray that many will take the opportunity to welcome others into their home to hear the Good News of Jesus.”
KidzFest, a special event designed specifically for children, is still scheduled to take place on Saturday morning, Feb. 6, at 10 a.m. ET at First Baptist Church. The one-hour program will feature live music by Go Fish, as well as a video presentation called The Quest. As with the evening program, seating is limited and reservations are required at TiftareaCelebration.com.
