TIFTON, Ga., Feb. 24, 2020 – In less than one month, the Tiftarea Celebration with Will Graham will officially begin in Tifton. Volunteers from 106 churches representing 17 denominations across the region are working together to host the Celebration, which will take place March 20-22, 2020, at the UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center.
“For months, Tifton has been preparing for the Tiftarea Celebration,” said Melissa Hughes. “Churches and people of all denominations have come together in prayer for this God-filled event that will change the lives of many with the help of our Savior Jesus Christ.”
Lynn Kelley added, “It has truly been a blessing to see and hear the prayers and unity of brothers and sisters in Christ throughout the churches, regardless of denominations. We’re joining together in lifting up the name of Jesus and the Gospel through the Tiftarea Celebration with Will Graham.”
Hughes and Kelley are helping to lead the planning and preparation for the three-day evangelistic outreach in March.
Several events are scheduled between now and the Celebration, including a Ladies Evening with Kendra Graham (wife of Will Graham) on March 12, and a prayer gathering on March 15.
“Prayer is the foundation of an evangelistic outreach like the Tiftarea Celebration,” said Bob Hickling, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association’s celebration director. “For this effort to be a success, we need to pray for the Celebration, and for our friends and neighbors that we will be inviting and bringing to the Conference Center in March.”
Celebration organizers recently completed a series of workshops that were hosted at several area churches, which were designed to help local Christians share their beliefs with others. More than 1,400 individuals attended these weekly classes, including a special course specifically tailored to students and youth workers.
