Rev. Billy Kim joins Franklin Graham for the dedication of Billy Kim Hall, a new expansion at the Billy Graham Library that will seat up to 300 people for training and special events.

The Billy Graham Library recently dedicated the Billy Kim Hall on Dec. 13. The hall will allow training and events to be held at the Billy Graham Library, which has welcomed 1.7 million visitors since opening in 2007. Rev. Billy Kim traveled from South Korea to be on hand for the opening.

Rev. Billy Kim was Billy Graham’s interpreter during his largest Crusade, which drew more than 1.1 million people to Yoido Plaza in Seoul, Korea, on June 3, 1973. Rev. Kim is also the chairman of the Far East Broadcasting Company—Korea, former president of the Baptist World Alliance, and former pastor of Suwon Central Baptist Church in Korea.

Thousands visit for Christmas at the Billy Graham Library

More than 42,000 people visited the Billy Graham Library for its annual Christmas tradition. The 15th annual Christmas at the Library ran Monday through Saturday, Nov. 28-Dec. 23. Guests experienced holiday favorites including horse-drawn carriage rides; Christmas story time for children; live music from carolers; a beautiful light display; a large, ornamented Christmas tree; holiday shopping and Live Nativity animals.

The Library will be closed through January to complete updates in the recently refreshed Journey of Faith, creating expanded opportunities for guests to discover the message Billy Graham preached for more than 70 years. However, the Graham Family Homeplace and grounds will be open to guests.

The Light FM listeners donate more than 100,000 meals to those in crisis

Through the 2022 “Hope to the Hungry” campaign on Dec. 1, The Light FM listeners donated enough money in a single day to provide 108,040 meals to those in need. This was the third year The Light FM partnered with seven rescue ministries to raise money to feed their community during the Christmas season. This year, the effort raised $229,046. These meals will be distributed throughout the South Central and Southern Appalachia regions to children in need, to people who are experiencing homelessness, and to people who are recovering from drug addiction.

“There’s no better time than Christmas to invite The Light FM listeners to offer tangible comfort to those who are desperately hungry to get something more out of life,” said John Owens, general manager of Blue Ridge Broadcasting. “We reminded our listeners that for just $2.12, they could provide not just a warm meal, but also provide someone hope.”

Those who are interested in supporting the “Hope to the Hungry” campaign can still do so by visiting https://thelightfm.org/hope-to-the-hungry/ and handpicking a center to receive their gift.
