Nearly 75,000 flooded to Velez Stadium this weekend to hear
powerful message of hope
BUENOS AIRES, Nov. 10, 2025 — Velez Stadium was so packed on the second and final night of Esperanza Buenos Aires that thousands of people lined the surrounding streets to listen to the message that Rev. Franklin Graham shared from the Bible.
“God loves you. He made you and cares for you and has a plan for your life,” Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA), told the crowd. “He wants to forgive you, but you have to come to His Son, Jesus Christ, in repentance and faith.”
Rev. Graham came to Buenos Aires at the invitation of local churches, and he partnered with nearly 2,500 evangelical churches for the two-night outreach. A fleet of 1,000 buses brought people from every corner of the city to Velez Stadium this weekend, where Graham invited those in attendance to turn from their sins and commit their lives to following Jesus Christ.
On Friday night, more than 30,000 people crowded into the stadium despite the rain, and a 30-year-old woman named Adriana said her life changed after hearing Rev. Graham preach. “He spoke about sins and that really touched me. The fact that he was willing to tell all people [about sin], from the stage, in front of so many people—I know that impacted all the people here, not just me. God is calling me back. God spoke to me a lot about my sins and it really got to my heart. This event renewed my faith. I go home very blessed and encouraged to follow Christ.”
Valentino, one of the nearly 43,000 people who came to Esperanza Buenos Aires on Saturday night, said, “I know I’m here for a reason. God called me to Him here today. I felt His love, I felt joy. Today I believe He is the way, the truth, and the life. I want to start following God and I want to bring my family too because they don’t walk with Him.”
The local churches that partnered with Rev. Graham and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association to organize the festival are now coming alongside Adriana and Valentino, and they are also following up with the thousands of other people who made decisions for Christ this weekend.
Ale Nüesch, the church coordinator for Esperanza Buenos Aires said, “I was blown away and surprised by the number of people who came forward. It’s incredible to see so many lives be changed at one moment here in this stadium. It’s beyond words. This is not common—we’re not used to seeing things like what just happened. It’s a miracle from heaven, and we thank God for each and every person whose life was transformed by accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.”
Esperanza Buenos Aires was free and all were invited to attend. The festival featured live music from Rescate, a local Argentinian Christian band, and Redimi2, a Latin Grammy-nominated rapper, as well as award-winning American musicians Michael W. Smith and Charity Gayle. Earlier in the week, Rev. Graham was welcomed to Buenos Aires by President Javier Milei at the Casa Rosada and by Jefe de Gobierno porteño Jorge Macri at City Hall.

ABOUT FRANKLIN GRAHAM AND THE BILLY GRAHAM EVANGELISTIC ASSOCIATION
Founded by Billy Graham in 1950, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association shares the Good News of Jesus Christ around the world. Franklin Graham is continuing the lifelong work of his father, Billy Graham, who preached to 259,000 people in Buenos Aires in November 1991. The event at Estadio Monumental had a tremendous impact on the church in Argentina and many of the people whose lives changed during that outreach are now partnering with Franklin Graham and BGEA to reach Buenos Aires once more with the power of the Gospel.
Franklin Graham held his first evangelistic event in 1989, and since then, he has preached at more than 345 outreaches in 55 countries. Earlier this year, Rev. Graham proclaimed the hope of Jesus Christ in Brussels, Belgium; London, England; and in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. After preaching in Buenos Aires, he is looking forward to sharing the Gospel in Nagaland, India; Siem Reap, Cambodia; Lima, Peru; and Madrid, Spain, in the coming months.
