WHAT:
After months of planning and preparation, the first stops of the 13-state Declaration of Dependence Tour with Will Graham will take place over the coming days throughout the Northeast. Graham is visiting the original colonies to lead prayer for our nation in its 250th year, and to proclaim the Good News of the Gospel, during brief noontime events.
WHO:
Will Graham is the third generation of his family to proclaim the love of Jesus Christ under the banner of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. He has shared the Gospel with more than 1.2 million people in live audiences across six continents since beginning his evangelistic ministry in 2006.
Graham will be joined for the Declaration of Dependence Tour by Josh Havens, of the award-winning Christian band The Afters. Havens will lead an acoustic time of worship at each stop.
THIS WEEK’S EVENTS:
Sept. 15: Plymouth, Massachusetts – Pilgrim Memorial State Park
Sept. 16: Manchester, New Hampshire – Veteran’s Memorial Park
Sept. 17: Providence, Rhode Island – Temple to Music at Roger Williams Park
Sept. 18: New Haven, Connecticut – The New Haven Green
QUOTES:
Pastor Ron Termale of Legacy Church in Providence, Rhode Island: “There’s a hunger for truth in the Northeast. People don’t need religion—they don’t want religion—but they’re not opposed to the true Gospel of Jesus and His love. There have been many historic spiritual awakenings in New England, as everyone knows, and it’s time for another one. The ground here is naturally rocky, and it’s spiritually rocky, but seeds are being planted and I believe the soil is ready for harvest.”
Will Graham: “As we continue to commemorate our country’s 250th birthday, it seems that many across the nation are declaring their independence from God. They don’t want Him in their lives. At the same time, I believe that now is the moment to turn back to our Savior—thanking Him for His faithfulness and truly acknowledging our dependence on Him. At the Declaration of Dependence Tour, we’ll spend time in prayer and praise. Then I’ll share the timeless truth of the Gospel and give people a chance to respond and place their faith in Jesus.”
