Tour Begins Oct. 11 In Lubbock With Prayer, Music and Life-Changing Message of Hope
Franklin Graham, who was in Texas shortly after Hurricane Harvey with chaplains and relief teams from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse, which are now working in five locations across the state to help people who have suffered storm and flood damage, will return next month with Decision Texas: The Lone Star Tour. Graham will be asking Texans to join him in praying for recovery not only from the storm, but for the miracle America desperately needs to solve the political, racial and cultural divisions plaguing our country.
Locations and dates for these one-day events were planned months ago and will begin Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m. when Graham kicks off the tour at Lubbock’s Mackenzie Park South.
Following Lubbock, the tour will continue across Texas with events in Midland, Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Round Rock, Waco and Longview. In May, Graham held similar events in Tennessee that drew 22,500 people.
“Our country is in trouble and needs prayer more than ever. We desperately need a spiritual transformation,” said Graham, president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and the international Christian relief organization Samaritan’s Purse. “Christians are the key to this spiritual transformation in America, and that’s why I will be challenging people in Texas to stand boldly for God, live according to biblical principles and get involved in their communities.”
All of the Decision Texas: The Lone Star Tour events will feature prayer, live music from Texas-native and Grammy-nominated artist Crowder, and a message of hope from Graham. The family-friendly events will conclude with fireworks. The Texas tour is free, and everyone is invited to attend.
“We all face crossroads in our lives—moments when we need to make important decisions,” said Graham. “Through these events across Texas, people will have the opportunity to make a decision that can impact their lives not only now, but for eternity.”
Graham said that even as he traveled to all 50 state capitals last year with Decision America Tour, speaking to and praying with more than 230,000 people who joined him along the way, he felt a calling to share the same life-changing message of Jesus Christ in smaller towns across the country where larger events may not typically visit.
