Free, family-friendly Celebration with evangelist Will Graham announced in Tifton, Georgia

TIFTON, Ga., Sept. 26, 2019 – More than 160 people from across the region gathered on Thursday evening, Sept. 26, at the University of Georgia-Tifton Campus Conference Center to officially announce the upcoming Tiftarea Celebration with Will Graham. The multi-day evangelistic outreach, which will be held March 20-22, 2020, also at the University of Georgia-Tifton Campus Conference Center, will be free of charge and will feature music from Christian artists and encouraging messages from Will Graham. Graham is the grandson of well-known evangelist Billy Graham, and son of Franklin Graham.

“No matter where I go in the world, people seem to be searching for the same things in life,” said Graham, who has preached in the Philippines, Albania, Hawaii and Montana so far this year, with two outreaches in Canada on the horizon. “They want hope and purpose, peace and security. I believe that all of these elusive elements can be found in Jesus, and I’m looking forward to sharing that message in Georgia next year.”

Tift County Commissioner Melissa Hughes, who is helping to organize the 2020 outreach, said, “As a leader in the community, I see and hear the need for a spiritual intervention. I have faith that this Celebration will spark a flame toward the movement of God far after the Celebration has ended. I’m excited about what God is about to do in our community.”

Tom Hocutt, associational missionary of the Mell Baptist Association, first asked the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association to consider an event in the region. He shared, “Our vision is to see the Tiftarea changed by churches working better together; Christians praying for and inviting their family, friends, and acquaintances to the event; lives being changed by the preaching of God’s Word—marriages saved, addictions being broken, families being made whole; and churches being revived because of what God does through this endeavor.”

A nearly continuous stream of activities and planning will take place across the region between now and the Celebration in March, including prayer rallies, workshops and community gatherings. Visit www.TiftareaCelebration.com for details and information.
