Evangelist Franklin Graham and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association have now traveled to nearly all 50 state capitals this year encouraging Christians to pray for America and its leaders, and to live and promote biblical principles at home, in public and at the ballot box. It’s a message that has resonated with hundreds of thousands of Americans who have joined Graham’s Decision America Tour.
“The response has been more than we ever imagined with so many people attending our rallies in the middle of a work day to pray with us on the steps of our state capitol buildings,” said Franklin Graham, president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. “When we began planning for Decision America Tour we thought we might have about 500 people in each city, but we have averaged more than 4,000. Christians in America are worried about our country and our future, and we know that God is our only real hope.”
Six more Decision America Tour events remain, with the final event at the Capitol in Graham’s home state of North Carolina on Oct. 13. To date, more than 186,000 people have attended the prayer rallies in person, with another 200,000 people viewing the events online through live streaming, video on demand and Periscope.
“Not even the presidential candidates traveled to every state capital this year,” said Graham. “If they did, they would have experienced what we saw during our rallies. Christians in America are deeply concerned about the direction of the country. Now they are taking action through prayer, and by living and promoting biblical principles in every area of their lives—including at the ballot box.”
