Final preparations underway for the upcoming Iowa Celebration with Will Graham

DES MOINES, Iowa, Sept. 1, 2021 – One month from today, the Iowa Celebration with Will Graham will officially begin in Des Moines. Volunteers from 205 churches representing 37 denominations across the region are working together to host the Celebration, which will take place Oct. 1-3 at Wells Fargo Arena.

“For the past several months, the Leadership Team has had the opportunity to interact with many churches, denominations and ministries here in Central Iowa. In fact, there is a growing momentum around this unity for revival via the Iowa Celebration,” said Mike Schreurs, who is leading the local Celebration planning teams. “Now, we’re excited to celebrate on Oct. 1, 2 and 3. Join us in this important work of the harvest for Iowa.”

The Iowa Celebration with Will Graham is a free and family-friendly three-day outreach. It will feature concerts by award-winning Christian artists, including multi-Platinum band Skillet, Grammy-nominated hip-hop star FLAME, CeCe Winans (the best-selling female Gospel artist of all time), The Afters and Aaron Shust, as well as hope-filled messages from Will Graham of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA). KidzFest – a special event tailored just for children, featuring bounce houses, face painting and games – will take place on Saturday morning, Oct. 2.

Several preliminary events are scheduled between now and the Celebration, including:

  • Love In Action: A multi-day effort to shine the light of Jesus across the city by doing community-focused projects, which will take place Sept. 2-4.
  • Christian Life & Witness Course: Free classes which will help local Christians grow in their faith and learn to talk to others about their beliefs. (Multiple dates and locations available, including a Spanish-language class.)
  • Celebration Prayer Gathering: Taking place at Walnut Creek Church – Downtown on Sept. 26.

The Iowa Celebration will follow applicable government COVID requirements, as well as protocols laid out by Wells Fargo Arena. Visitors are encouraged to observe the CDC guidelines for being in public places. Individuals who are sick, in a high risk group, or otherwise concerned, are encouraged to stay home and instead watch the online livestream of the Iowa Celebration.
