GREAT FALLS, Mont., Sept. 17, 2019 – The final stop of the Big Sky
Celebration with evangelist
Will Graham took place this weekend in Great Falls, with 5,889 people attending
the three-day outreach at the Four Seasons Arena. The Celebration, held Sept.
13-15, capped a three-city, nine-day, nine-event effort that brought the hope
of the Gospel to more than 12,000 people across western Montana.
“God can give you joy, peace and fulfillment. Christ is what you’re looking for
in life. He wants to heal your broken heart,” said Graham, the grandson of
well-known evangelist Billy Graham and the son of Franklin Graham, from the
stage during Sunday night’s closing program in Great Falls. “Have you surrendered
your brokenness to Him?”
More than 530 people responded to the Gospel message in Great Falls, walking
forward at the invitation to begin a relationship with Jesus. Similar decisions
for Christ were made by 273 people in Helena (Sept. 6-8) and
50 people in Hamilton (Sept. 11) over
the course of the Big Sky Celebration.
“I’m overwhelmed, honestly. It’s hard to comprehend all that God has done. So
many lives have been changed, their eternal destiny has been changed,” said
Pastor Lee Barrows, who – along with Shane Etzwiler – helped to lead the Great
Falls portion of the Big Sky Celebration tour. “God did
something unusually kind for our city, and we’re so excited.”
Etzwiler added, “The Celebration shows the desperate need for hope in our city
and the surrounding area. People are hungry for the truth. The devil has had
his grip on this area for too long, and it’s time for that to be broken. Many
have placed their hope in Jesus and the church is unified to continue the
work.”
The Big Sky Celebration marked the first time that Graham has
held a three-city tour in the United States. From here he will travel to
Belleville, Ontario, and Baker Lake, Nunavut, to hold a pair of Celebrations in
Canada in October.
