Franklin Graham to share message of hope in Mexico City

MEXICO CITY, Jan. 10, 2023—Franklin Graham is coming to preach in Mexico City 42 years after his father Billy Graham, one of the world’s most well-known evangelists, made his first historic visit to Mexico in 1981. Franklin Graham is continuing the lifelong work of his father, and he’s partnering with more than 2,400 evangelical churches across the capital city to share a message of hope at Arena CDMX on Saturday, February 11 and Sunday, February 12.

“I always look forward to spending time with the people of Mexico. I have visited this beautiful country many times to help people after disasters and to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ,” said Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. “So much has changed in Mexico City since my father preached here four decades ago, but the needs of the human heart haven’t changed. I’m inviting everyone to come hear the Good News that God loves them and has a purpose for their lives.”

Esperanza CDMX is an outreach of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, and all are welcome to attend the free and family-friendly events that will start at 6:00 p.m. both nights at Arena CDMX.

The program will include live performances by six-time Latin Grammy winner and two-time Billboard winner Marcos Witt, one of the most iconic Spanish-speaking Christian music artists in the world and Miel San Marcos, an upbeat Christian Guatemalan group that has been nominated for a Latin Grammy. Grammy-nominated and Premio Oye-nominated Mexican singer Nadia will also be joining Esperanza CDMX, as well as multi-platinum selling artist Michael W. Smith, who has been honored with three Grammys and an American Music Award.

Thousands of churches across Mexico City and the metropolitan area are participating in these events to reach their city with the message that’s needed most—hope.

Pedro Ramírez Pérez, president and representative of the Baptist Church in Mexico, said, “If there is one thing that I see over and over again as a pastor, it is the deep need of people throughout Mexico to find and experience hope. This need stems from the many concerns we face, such as providing for our families, staying safe on the streets, getting enough healthcare, and avoiding corruption. We need a hope that will give us the strength and confidence to navigate the many worries in our lives. This is why I am excited that Franklin Graham is coming to Mexico City to share how we can all find true and lasting hope through the Son of God, Jesus Christ.”

Aarón Cortés Hernández, Senior Pastor of Iglesia Cristina Interdenominational Religious Association (ICIAR) added, “Mexico City needs to hear the timely message that Franklin Graham has come to share. We all need to know that there is hope—God loves us!”
