BRITISH COLUMBIA, Canada, Feb. 11, 2026 – The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) is deploying chaplains to British Columbia, Canada, following a shooting at a school and a residence that left 10 people dead and 25 others injured.
The violence took place in Tumbler Ridge, a remote community of approximately 2,400 residents in northeastern British Columbia. Seven people were found dead at the secondary school, including the suspected shooter. Two others were discovered at a nearby residence believed to be connected to the attack. A tenth victim later died while being transported to the hospital, making the tragedy one of Canada’s worst mass shootings.
“This incident has sent shockwaves of horror and grief across the globe. We mourn with every person affected by this tragedy,” said Josh Holland, vice president of BG-RRT Global. “The Bible reminds us that the Lord offers compassion and comfort to those facing trouble. That is the message our crisis-trained chaplains carry as they minister and share the hope of Jesus Christ with a brokenhearted community.”
In addition to British Columbia, the BG-RRT chaplains are ministering to those affected by the winter storm in Corinth, Oxford and New Albany, Mississippi, and West Monroe, Louisiana. The ministry also continues to provide emotional and spiritual care to families forced to flee their homes in war-torn Ukraine.
