Born in 1918, Billy Graham, a native of North Carolina, commits his life to serving Jesus Christ at age 15 (photo: late 1930s).
As a teenager in the early 1930s, Billy Graham prefers baseball to religion, recalling later that he “detested going to church.” That changes in 1924 when he commits his life to serving Jesus Christ at a revival led by traveling evangelist Mordecai Fowler Ham.

Billy Graham holds more than 400 Crusades, simulcasts and evangelistic rallies from 1947 to 2005, speaking to some 215 million people.

"I'm going to heaven, not on my good works or because I've preached to all these people or read the Bible," Billy Graham told David Frost in an interview aired by the Public Broadcasting System in 1993. "I'm going to heaven because of what Christ did on the cross."
Throughout his life, Billy Graham preaches the gospel of Jesus Christ to some 215 million people in live audiences (Crusades, simulcasts and evangelistic rallies). Hundreds of millions more have been reached through television, video, film and webcasts.
Billy Graham founds the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association in 1950. Today the organization continues his legacy, delivering the gospel around the world.
