CHARLOTTE, N.C., Jan. 22, 2016—In 2016, the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, N.C. will once again host a variety of special events, book signings with popular authors, and displays of artifacts and items from the archive collection of Billy Graham’s personal life and ministry.
The Library kicked off the New Year with the addition of never-before-seen memorabilia to The Journey of Faith tour from Billy Graham’s more than 60-year ministry. The collection, called “Taking Down the Ropes,” will be on temporary display through February 29 and focuses on Graham’s fight for racial equality based on the Scriptures that helped shape his ministry during the 1950’s and ’60s.
On Saturday, Feb. 20, Sadie Robertson from the A&E hit television show Duck Dynasty, who also recently participated in the 19th season of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, will sign copies of her New York Times best-selling book, Live Original. Robertson will sign books from 1-2:30 p.m. Live Original can be purchased at Ruth’s Attic bookstore in the Library or guests may bring their own copy. Limit of two signed items per person (one item must be Sadie’s book).
In March, the family-favorite Easter Celebration will return to the Billy Graham Library after a one-year hiatus. The event will feature a newly designed program for both adults and children, photos with live lambs and a donkey foal, and a special Holy Week resource for families.
Other events that will return in 2016 include: the Ladies Tea and Tour on April 16; Mother’s Day Breakfast on May 7; Doughnuts with Dad on June 18; Men’s Breakfast and Tour on Sept. 10; Bikers with Boxes on Oct. 15; Veteran’s Day Breakfast on Nov. 11; Ladies Night Out on Nov. 18; Teddy Bear Tea on Dec. 3; and the 9th annual Christmas at the Library from Dec. 1-23.
Additional events are being scheduled throughout the year and will focus on aviation workers, health-care workers, and first responders.
In 2015, the Billy Graham Library welcomed more than 145,000 guests from across the U.S. and countries around the world—including the 1 millionth guest to The Journey of Faith since its opening in 2007—many of whom visited for special events and as travel groups.
