Search For Jesus Press Kit
CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 27, 2026 – The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) will celebrate the 15th anniversary of its internet evangelism ministry—Search for Jesus—this week, April 29, marking a decade-and-a-half of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ online.
Since its launch in April 2011, the ministry has welcomed more than 129 million visitors across its websites, seen over 3 million people indicate decisions for Christ and also provide their contact information for follow-up and spiritual growth. Additionally, the ministry has provided free online discipleship courses to more than 360,000 students.
“This milestone reflects our continued commitment to carry forward Billy Graham’s legacy—proclaiming the Gospel to every nation regardless of barriers like language, culture or distance,” said Mark Appleton, vice president of Internet Evangelism for BGEA. “Today, that mission increasingly takes place online. While many turn to the internet in search of entertainment, fulfillment or meaning, we are there to meet them in those moments and point them to the hope found in Jesus Christ. Through Search for Jesus, God is enabling us to reach people with the Gospel who would have been considered unreachable just a few decades ago.”
BGEA’s internet evangelism ministry is supported by a network of more than 1,900 trained volunteers across 59 countries who engage with visitors in real time, answering questions and sharing Biblical truth. Since the ministry began, volunteers have responded to over 2.8 million inquiries through live chat, social media messaging, and email. Recently, the ministry expanded its global reach by welcoming new volunteers from Romania and the Middle East.
The ministry’s flagship sites include PeaceWithGod.net, a website where visitors can discover the Gospel and interact with trained volunteers, and SearchForJesus.net, serving as the central hub for volunteers and supporters of BGEA’s online evangelism efforts.
The ministry also offers free online discipleship resources designed to help new believers grow in their understanding of the Bible. Through its Going Farther courses, participants are guided in foundational aspects of the Christian faith, while an online church locator helps connect them with local churches for ongoing community and support.
Since its launch, the ministry has expanded to nine languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Indonesian, Vietnamese and American Sign Language.
“What began as small steps of faith has grown into a global discipleship movement,” said Mark Appleton. “By God’s grace, we’re not only reaching people with the Gospel—we’re walking with them as they grow in their faith, helping thousands take their next steps in following Jesus Christ.”
