MILWAUKEE, Wisc., Aug. 12, 2025 – The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) is deploying to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where torrential rains and devastating flooding inundated the area over the weekend. Reports have called the event a 1,000-year flood, with property damage to hundreds of homes.

“Across the U.S., we have seen a tragic string of natural disasters taking place. This weekend in Milwaukee, the residents were the latest to witness the devastating effects of historic storms and the power that flood waters can have,” said Josh Holland, international director of the BG-RRT. “Our chaplains are heading to Wisconsin to provide spiritual and emotional care to residents affected by the recent floods. At a time when all hope seems lost, we will let them know true hope can be found through Jesus Christ.”

The BG-RRT is deploying in coordination with Samaritan’s Purse, the Christian disaster relief organization also headed by Franklin Graham. Together the two ministries will address the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of those who have been affected.

In addition to Milwaukee, the BG-RRT is ministering to those impacted by flooding over the Fourth of July in San Angelo, Texas, and offering hope and providing emotional comfort and spiritual care to families who have been forced to flee their homes in war-torn Ukraine.

About the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team

The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team was developed by Franklin Graham and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association following the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. It has since grown into an international network of chaplains in the U.S., U.K., Canada and Australia who are specifically trained to deal with crisis situations. They have deployed to more than 900 disaster sites across the globe, including shootings, floods, hurricanes, wildfires and tornadoes.
