Music, special events for teens and children, part of weekend-long outreach
RAPID CITY, S.D., Sept. 10, 2021 – The Black Hills Paha Sapa Celebration with Will Graham, coming to The Monument Sept. 24-26, will feature a weekend full of free concerts by some of the top artists in Christian music.
The Afters, who will perform every night of the Celebration, have won Dove Awards for New Artist of the Year and Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year. They’ve been a consistent and popular presence on the Christian music scene for more than a decade, garnering multiple top five hits on the Billboard Praise & Worship charts.
In addition to The Afters:
- Friday, Sept. 24, will be headlined by Grammy Award-nominated worship leader Kari Jobe, who has won multiple Dove Awards and has two RIAA Gold Certified singles: Forever (2014) and The Blessing (2020).
- Saturday, Sept. 25, will feature Cochren & Co. (pronounced Cochren and Company). With hope-filled lyrics and timeless melodies, Cochren & Co. blur the lines between American pop, soft rock, and soul/blues to create a sound all their own.
- Sunday, Sept. 26, will be youth night, and will feature Grammy, Dove and Stellar Award-nominated hip-hop artist FLAME, who has several Billboard chart-toppers on his resume. Lacey Sturm, the founder and former lead singer of the award-winning alternative rock band Flyleaf, will also headline the evening.
“To say that we’re excited about the line-up of artists would be an understatement,” said John Brandenburg, co-director of the Black Hills Paha Sapa Celebration on behalf of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. “The concerts are free and open to everybody, and all are welcome. No tickets are required. We encourage you to get there early to get a good seat, and bring your friends!”
In addition to the evening Celebration events, a special program for children and families will take place the morning of Saturday, Sept. 25. KidzFest will feature music by children’s performer Go Fish, an interactive video Gospel presentation called The Quest, and a message of hope from Will Graham. The one-hour event will be followed by bounce houses, face painting and games.
